The business unit for Digital Infrastructure at the KNAW Humanities Cluster in Amsterdam is looking for a Software Engineer/Developer.
About us
We have an open culture at HuC Digital Infrastructure. This means you can walk up to another developer and ask him questions, but also that the software you will write for HuC will be open sourced whenever we can. Every month there are ‘borrels’ where you can relax, have a drink and listen to the manager of DI giving a five-minute status update on the department.
Job description
A new team is being set up within the HuC Digital Infrastructure that will focus on image analysis. There are many research projects using images and related data. The main goal of the new team is to extract information from images and make this usable for research. The tooling really often is innovating. It regularly results in scientific papers. We build these tools with and for scientists who work at the institutes and of course for the general public.
Do you like analyzing images using computers? Do you like history a bit? And most importantly: do you know how to code?
To be successful you have:
