Job description

The group of Dr. Kerstin Bartscherer currently has a vacancy for a PhD student To work on Cellular and molecular characterization of regenerating spiny mouse tissues.

Description of the project:
The regeneration of lost body parts is one of the most fascinating processes in nature. African spiny mice are among the few mammals capable of regenerating large parts of their skin. We use these animals to understand successful tissue regeneration in mammals and, through comparative approaches, the roadblocks that prevent this process in most other species. The student will use powerful new sequencing technologies in combination with cell and molecular biology methods to characterize regeneration in spiny mice.
