As a part of the Information Management & Consultancy (IMC) department, the development team works closely together with other departments by building and improving applications to support processes for students, staff, researchers and alumni.

Your day at RSM …

You travel to campus by bike or public transport and start up your MacBook. As a team you’ll discuss the previous day, your goals for today and how you can achieve these goals. Afterwards you and your colleagues go to the campus supermarket to get a cup of coffee, or a croissant, and get to coding.

You start working on your Jira issues nd review code from your colleagues. Around noon it’s lunch time and you’ll be eating together with the whole IMC department, or perhaps you’ll prefer ‘going out’ to eat among students at the campus food court.

With a full stomach, you’ll continue developing the current application and at the end of the day you’ll be able to unwind by joining one of your colleagues for a game of squash or a round of boxing at the Erasmus Sport Center.

Our requirements …

• Fluency in both Dutch and English.
• HBO/WO-level thinking or similar (equivalent to Dutch higher education).
• Extensive work experience as a developer.
• Experience in writing modern PHP OOP code.
• Experience in a modern PHP framework, preferably Laravel.
• Experience in SQL (MySQL/Oracle).
• Knowledge about front-end development.

We offer …

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). We offer a full-time contract, initially for one year with the option for extension if requirements are met.

Erasmus University Rotterdam has attractive employment conditions. Salary is subject to training and experience, and may vary from € 35,000 (scale 10 CAO NU) up to € 56,000 gross per annum (scale 11 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours. On top of that, you will receive a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent.

You are also entitled to 41 days off (29 vacation days and 12 compensation days, based on a 40-hour work week), and will benefit from mandatory training, personal development and relevant conferences.
