Job description

The department of organisation and personnel management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) invites applications for a faculty position in the field of human resource management. The position starts on 1 September 2019 or sooner, and you will be appointed at the assistant or associate professor level, depending on your level of experience and research track record.

Your tasks

In this position, you will be expected to:

  • make significant contributions to RSM’s HRM-related research portfolio

  • teach HRM and organisational behaviour in RSM’s Dutch language programmes (so fluency in Dutch and English is essential)

  • be involved in the mentoring and development of junior faculty and PhD students to deliver high-quality HRM-related research

  • contribute to the redevelopment of the Erasmus Centre for Human Resource Excellence to strengthen RSM’s ties with HR professionals and managers.

Requirements

To be eligible, you should demonstrate outstanding achievements in both research and teaching in the field of human resource management (HRM). This includes:

  • a PhD in a related discipline

  • at assistant professor level, which is a tenure track position, you should have published papers and/or high quality papers in the pipeline for top management journals (see the ERIM journal list)

  • at associate professor level, which is a tenured position, you are expected to have an established track record of high quality publications (at A level, which is designated as P* on the ERIM journal list)

  • candidates for both levels should have experience of teaching HRM at bachelor, master, and ideally MBA and executive level

  • fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

Conditions of employment

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Salary is subject to training and experience. The compensation package includes several secondary benefits, such as a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.
