Department of Electrical Engineering 
With almost 100 (assistant, associate and full) professors, over 200 PhD and PDEng students, about 800 Bachelor students and 300 Master students, the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) is one of the largest departments of the TU/e. By performing top-level fundamental and applied research, offering high-quality educational programs, and maintaining strong ties with industry, EE aims to contribute to science and to innovation in and beyond the region. Job description:
The Department of Electrical Engineering is seeking applications for a lecturer (Docent) position. In this position you will be part of our teaching team engaged with our ongoing teaching activities (mainly) within our own Bachelor program. Your tasks will be mainly related to teaching in first- and second year courses as well as group projects and bachelor thesis supervision.

The position offers a great opportunity for candidates with teaching experience and/or who would like to gain teaching experience in a dynamic, innovative teaching environment.
We are looking for a candidate who is a team player with a passion for teaching and ideas for teaching students (with different backgrounds) in an innovative, interactive way.

Requirements

A successful candidate should at least have an MSc degree, but preferably a PhD-degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or a similar field. You have a drive to engage in top-level teaching and relevant teaching experience at the Bachelor and/or Master level. In addition you are willing to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (BKO in Dutch) and you have good teaching skills, as evidenced by teaching experience and good course evaluations.
Excellent command of English (written/verbal) is required (C1 level). Finally, you are a team player and prepared to play an active citizenship role within the group you will be working in.

Conditions of employment

  • A challenging job in a dynamic and ambitious university;
  • An appointment for initially 1 year with the possibility to extent with 4 years. Starting date: flexible, but preferably as soon as possible.
  • A gross monthly salary of a Lecturer between € 2,709 and € 4,274 (based on a fulltime appointment), depending on experience and knowledge.
  • A yearly holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary;
  • A yearly end of year allowance of 8.3% of the yearly salary;
  • A broad package of fringe benefits (including an excellent technical infrastructure, moving expenses, savings schemes and excellent sports facilities).
