Job description

The Department is seeking a Full Professor of Marketing Analytics, in a part-time appointment. The key role of the professor will be to mentor and support (junior) faculty and doctoral students in building their portfolios, to secure funding from second and third streams, and to build the group’s international reputation and network. In support of this, the goal should be to enhance collaboration with other marketing groups, but also with other disciplines within SBE and VU to strengthen the position of the Department in the increasingly interdisciplinary environment of business research. The new professor should furthermore play a role in the currently developing Research Master in Data Science, that is developed within the Tinbergen Institute.

Requirements

  • holds a PhD in Marketing
  • has strong track record with publications in top-tier journals (AI > 80) in quantitative marketing
  • has a strong international research network
  • shows high potential for a productive research career at the forefront and top level of the marketing field
  • has shown a clear interest in societally and managerially relevant research in marketing, with a focus on understanding the interactions between companies and consumers, and translating them into better organizational practices in marketing
  • has a proven ability to create cohesion and stimulate collaboration in research
  • has experience in supervising junior researchers and doctoral students
  • the candidate has demonstrated evidence of successful research valorization, translating and communicating marketing knowledge to professional practice
  • has excellent teaching evaluations and is able to teach students within various programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience level
  • has the potential to exploit the opportunities in education, dissemination, and valorization in the field of Marketing Analytics

Conditions of employment

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €5,582 (H2) and a maximum €8,127 (H2), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.2 FTE.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 5 years, with the possibility of extension. Additionally, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers excellent fringe benefits and various schemes and regulations to promote a good work/life balance, such as:
