Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position as assistant professor or associate professor in our Department of Technology & Operations Management, focusing on Supply Chain Management.

Required qualifications

Applicants should have (or expect to complete soon) a PhD in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Operations Management, or a closely related field. The candidate should have expertise in an area of specific interest to our department:

  • Supply chain co-ordination and contracting;

  • Transportation and logistics;

  • Intralogistics (material handling, warehouse management, terminal operations);

  • Procurement, sourcing, purchasing and supply management;

  • Behavioural Operations;

  • Sustainable operations and closed-loop supply chains;

  • Retail Operations.

Candidates need to have demonstrated a potential for excellence in research and teaching. We are especially looking for a candidate with expertise in supply chain analytics, being able to transform vast amounts of data gathered along the supply chain to provide recommendations on improving supply chain efficiency. Part of the educational role that we envision the candidate to fulfil involves teaching in our new MSc in Business Analytics, which will run as of September 2020.

Conditions of employment

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU). Favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants. Erasmus University Rotterdam has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.
