Functiebeschrijving

For its strategy 2011-2015, the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam (www.amc.nl) has chosen to strengthen the support for applicants of EU grants. This is necessary, because more and more research funding is distributed through the EU. The EU grant advisor will be appointed by and function within the Research Council of the AMC. The Research Council advises the Executive Board of the AMC on research policy, supports researchers who wish to apply for research grants and promotes scientific debate in the AMC. The EU grant advisor will be the central point of contact for researchers who wish to apply for an EU grant, both the Framework Programme grants and other European subsidies. The advisor collaborates with the EU experts of the AMR Ltd on financial and administrative matters and with the Technology Transfer Office on legal issues.
The tasks of the EU grant advisor are:

• Stimulate researchers to apply for EU grants by providing information and by proactively identifying potential applicants.
• Advise researchers on whether to participate, the composition of the consortium and content issues
• For the 3-4 most promising proposals per year with AMC as coordinator: co-author the non-scientific sections and advise on matters regarding the structure of the scientific section.
• Participate in the Liaison Officer networks of the Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) and follow-up the NFU position paper for FP8.
• Maintain contact with EG Liaison, Nether and other lobby partners.
• Collect (successful) (examples of) requests and evaluation summary reviews.
• Set up an EU project managers-pool.
• Help with the other tasks of the Research Council
