Job description

The KWF-sponsored research project entitled "Development of radiolabeled necrosis-targeting probes for early detection of anti-cancer therapy efficacy and anti-cancer treatment: a new theranostic platform" is a multi-disciplinary pre-clinical project involving chemistry, radiochemistry, in vitro assays, in vivo experimentation in mice models of cancer using PET, SPECT, optical imaging, and histological validation examination of necrosis-targeting probes.

Requirements

You are a highly motivated candidate with a university PhD degree. You have received excellent scientific training and experience in the field of (Radio)chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or a related field. Preferably experience with radiolabeling techniques and animal PET/SPECT and/or optical imaging. You have outstanding theoretical and experimental research skills, are well organized and result-driven with a strong team spirit. A strong command of scientific English in speech and writing is essential. At time of employment you should have been awarded a PhD degree. You are an inhabitant of one of the member states of the European Union, an Associated Country or any third country.

Being able to present a certificate of good conduct is a condition for the appointment.

Conditions of employment

We offer an initial appointment of one year with possibility of extension for the remaining duration of the project. The total duration of the project is three years. The period of employment can be extended depending on future funding bids, in which the candidate is expected to take an active role.

The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 4.216,- (scale 10), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
