Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Organizational Communication, starting October 2017 or as soon as possible. The position is in the Center of Excellence in Public Safety Management (CESAM).

Requirements

We invite candidates with an appreciation for academic research linked to responsible research innovations in the field of co-creation in public security to create impact to the academic community as well as practitioners. Candidates should have a strong commitment to high-quality research as well as evidence of the ability to conduct and manage complex field research in international and interdisciplinary groups.

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in organizational communication, new media, work psychology, sociology or related fields. We are open for all research methodologies, although preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in field research and/or media analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of grant applications and project bids in the context of the Centre of Excellence in Public Safety Management (CESAM). Experiences in grant writing and a track record of successful grant applications will therefore be a bonus. Participation in executive teaching is possible depending on the candidate’s interests and qualifications. Due to the large amount of international project work in CESAM excellent oral and writing skills in English are required, language skills (oral and written) in Dutch and/or other languages are a bonus.

Fixed-term contract: fixed-term for 2 years with possibility for extension.

Conditions of employment

The gross monthly salary, depending on your education and experience, is between € 3,475, - and € 4,757, - (scale 11 of the CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten (CAO NU)) for full-time employment.

The salary includes several secondary benefits (such as a pension plan that is partially funded by the university, a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% per year. Favorable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants. Headhunter support for dual career couples is possible through the faculty.
