Job description

The Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) invites applications for a lecturer (wetenschappelijk docent) in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship (1,0 fte) to strengthen our dynamic, international, and diverse teaching environment.

Tasks include:

• teaching and co-ordinating courses in strategic management and entrepreneurship

• coaching students to excel in their theses or internships

• (co-)coordinating our second-year entrepreneurship course in the BSc Bedrijfskunde programme. The course combines theoretical perspectives on entrepreneurship with experiential learning and challenges students to start their own real-life company, ultimately concluding with the exciting RSM Entrepreneurship Challenge for the students.

Requirements

• We are looking for candidates with a PhD in either strategic management or entrepreneurship. Strong candidates with an MSc in business administration or comparable education are also invited to apply. For those candidates there is an opportunity to combine this position with the pursuit of a PhD degree.

• RSM offers Dutch- and English-taught programmes, so proficiency in both languages is required.

• Teaching experience is a must.

Fixed-term contract: Temporary, with a maximum of 4 Years.

Employment conditions

The conditions of employment comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO NU). Based on your match with the requirements described above, the position is classified either as Docent 3 (scale 11) or Docent 4 (scale 10), as described in UFO / VSNU.

The teaching position ideally starts in September 2018. The lecturer will be hired on a full-time, temporary contract with a maximum of four years. The lecturer is expected to grasp opportunities to further develop teaching skills by way of attaining a University Teaching Qualification (BKO/SKO). Promotion to a tenured position as senior lecturer is possible for candidates already holding a PhD.
