Purpose of the function 

The goal of the function is to provide strategic direction and leadership to the company and to take final responsibility for company strategy, growth and overall business performance.

Performance criteria

  • Inspiring strategic vision in terms of the development, communication and effective implementation of services and products that Elevate offers, both on the short as on the long term;
  • Client satisfaction;
  • Realization of strategic targets, financial results and new business opportunities;
  • Consolidation of the business and relation with relevant stakeholders;
  • Growth in strategic partnerships, revenues and gross margin on business
  • Overall performance of the Elevate staff, team spirit and culture;
  • Quality of line management;

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes the general management of the company;
  • Develops, manages and executes the strategic planning;
  • Defines, manages and approves company operational procedures, policies, and standards;
  • Supports the acquisition of key strategic clients and projects;
  • Supports effective contacts with the umbrella/ branch organizations;
  • Supports the network building and branding of the company;
  • Serves as spokesperson and representative for the organization;
  • Manages tender procedures within procurement policies of customers with focus on long term relationships with B2B clients;
  • Promotes a culture that reflects Elevate's values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity;
  • Acts as a line manager for the heads of department, including goal setting, coaching and performance evaluation;
  • Acts as a teamplayer and values the power of collaboration;
  • Develops, manages and executes the financial management of the company;
  • Develops annual budgets that support operating plans and submits budgets for board approval;
  • Prudently manages Elevate's resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations;
  • Provides prompt, thorough, and accurate information to keep the board appropriately informed of Elevate's financial position, (contracted) sales pipeline and revenue forecast or any other developments key to the success of Elevate;
  • Develops, manages and executes the Human Relations Management of the company;
  • Manages the recruitment and lay off of personnel;
  • Manages work conflicts, is approachable, transparent and acts as a good listener;
  • Motivates the Elevate team and is fully engaged in the work of the team;
  • Assures that Elevate, and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

Functie-eisen

  • Academic grade and working level;
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in leadership, business (development) and finance;
  • A proven track record in higher education;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and growing e-learning operations and/or business;
  • Vigorous and entrepreneurial personality with commercial and market analysis expertise;
  • Proven leadership skills;
  • Proven network skills, preferably in higher education and political environments;
  • Flexible communication style at different levels of any organization;
  • Affinity with academic education and training and new media technologies;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of online education and market trends;
  • Out-of-the-box thinker
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
