The Delta Management bachelor programme provides education on the management of area development with a focus on climate adaptability, (water) safety, ecological resilience and economic vitality of delta regions. This programme is provided by the Delta Academy of the HZ University of Applied Sciences*. The curriculum is developed in close collaboration with the professional field, theory and practice are interlinked in the programme. Working on Dutch and international projects is an important part of the curriculum.
The first year of the programme is combined with Watermanagement, a combination of the programmes Aquatic Ecotechnology and Delta Management.
Function description
The core of the function is to provide lectures, supervising and coaching (groups of) students in projects, during internships, graduation projects and assessments - both in the Netherlands as abroad - within the bachelor programme Delta Management.
The courses are offered in the English and Dutch language. Due to the development of the new programme Watermanagement, a solid contribution is requested in the further development of teaching materials, whereby paying close attention to the didactic approach. In this didactic model students work on real life cases and collaborate with people from the professional field. Part of the time can be arranged to carry out research at the research group resilient deltas.
A bachelor programme of Spatial Planning (as part of Watermanagement) is under development, depending on skills and expertise, part of the function can be the development of spatial economics aspects in this programme.
HZ positions itself as the personal university. We, therefore, attach great importance to good relations between lecturers and students and expect lecturers to spend most of their time being physically present at school during office hours.
