  • Giving lectures and holding tutorials in the field of archaeological ceramic studies, as well as coordinating teaching in the Bachelor’s programmes;
  • Supervising student projects in the Ceramic laboratory.

Functie-eisen

  • MA or MSc Degree in archaeology;
  • Broad general knowledge and expertise with ceramic technology;
  • Affinity with teaching;
  • Excellent English, spoken and written; command of the Dutch language is an advantage.
  • Leiden University requires teaching staff to obtain the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ). If the successful applicant does not already  possess this qualification or its equivalent, he/ she must be willing to obtain this Qualification within two years.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

We offer a 0,2 fte position for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on need, funding and performance. Salary range from € 2.552,-to € 4.028,- gross per month (scale 10, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). Salary scale depends on education and experience.

Leiden University offers an attractive benefits package with additional holiday (8%) and end-  of-year bonuses (8.3 %), training and career development and sabbatical leave. Our individual choices model gives you some freedom to assemble your own set of terms and conditions. Candidates from outside the Netherlands may be eligible for a substantial tax break.
