Job description

The Leiden Institute of Chemistry invites applications for PhD positions 2017. These positions are awarded to worldwide graduates with a demonstrated talent for fundamental research, who seek to pursue an ambitious PhD project of up to four years, on a topic in ‘Energy & Sustainability’.

Requirements

  • A recent MSc degree in Chemistry, Physics (or equivalent);
  • Ability to perform research independently;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Good proficiency in the English language (both oral and written);
  • Excellent grades and references.

Conditions of employment

We offer a full-time 1 year term position for initially one year. After a positive evaluation of the progress of the thesis, personal capabilities and compatibility the appointment will be extended by a further three years. Salary ranges from € 2,222.-  to €2,840.-  gross per month (pay scale P in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).

In addition, advanced courses to deepen scientific knowledge are offered by the research school.
