We are looking for an Assistant Professor in Research Methods (m/f) (Full-time, 38 hours per week) (Starting date September 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter)

Job description

The position:

The Assistant Professor in Research Methods reports to the Associate Dean Research and is actively involved in the DBA program. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the research activities of MSM in general, including raising research grant, publishing and organization of conferences;
  • Teaching academic skills, qualitative and/or quantitative research methods;
  • Supervising DBA candidates in their proposal writing process;
  • Contributing to the coordination of the Research Methods & Skills program;
  • Assessing research proposals of prospective DBA candidates to assess their eligibility for MSM’s DBA program;
  • Writing a monthly DBA news item for the MSM website;
  • Redesigning and improving the Research Methods & Skills online available program and developing online teaching materials.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent in business/public administration, management or economics;
  • At least 5 years of experience in an academic environment;
  • Full proficiency in English;
  • Familiar with software applications relevant to online and blended learning;
  • Experience as instructional designer and trainer;
  • Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established teaching programs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues and students;
  • Some prior experience with postgraduate teaching is desirable;
  • Supervisory skills are desirable.
