Job description

In order to further strengthen the University of Groningen Business School (and therefore FEB’s) positioning and visibility we are looking for a Sales Officer to help position the UGBS programmes in the competitive market for executive education, and to recruit participants for the programmes.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in the field of sales and accountmanagement in a b2b environment. The officer will focus on external stakeholders, such as businesses, organisations and governmental institutions. The Faculty’s communications & marketing plan and the UGBS Strategy Plan give an important framework for this role.

The tasks mainly focus on developing and executing communication and sales activities around the UGBS programmes. The sales officer follows every step in the sales funnel from creating interest by for example online advertising, organising infomeetings, email campaigns and at the end of the funnel 1 tot 1 approach of participants. The officer will report to the Head of MIC (also Head of ECS) and the director of UGBS.

Requirements

We are looking for a new colleague, a real team player. The new colleague will mainly focus on sales. The following skills, abilities and qualifications are required:
- university level, Dutch HBO or bachelor’s degree
- independent, proactive and creative
- affinity with the area of economics and business
- proficiency in Dutch and English
- capable of creating visibility for UGBS via a variety of (social) channels (internal, external)
- flexible and client oriented
- good team worker, with a results oriented and creative attitude and excellent communication (including writing) and collaboration skills (including intercultural skills)
- sales attitude and goal oriented.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 14 months.

The University of Groningen offers, depending on qualifications and experience, a gross monthly salary between € 2,588 and € 4,084 (salary scale 10 Dutch Universities) based on a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees.
The initial appointment is until the end of 2018 (starting as soon as possible). An extension depends on developments within the department and performance of the candidate.

The Department of Marketing, International Affairs and Communications (MIC) of FEB supports and advises the Faculty Board, the programme directors, the UGBS, the departmental heads and others on developing and improving FEB’s position with regard to external relations and its education and research. MIC has around 20 members of staff and provides support in such areas as internationalisation, marketing and recruitment, internal and external communication, video production, event organisation and research communication. The Department is part of Education and Communication Services (ECS), which also includes the Exchange Office, the Student Administration Office, Study Advice and Educational Quality.
