Job description

The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour at Radboud University in Nijmegen is an internationally renowned institution in the field of cognitive neuroscience. With the Donders-Mohrmann fellowship, we are establishing a junior research group to explore new avenues in neuroscience. The position is open to outstanding applicants with backgrounds that are underrepresented in science (particularly in terms of gender and minorities).

If you wish to conduct inspiring academic research with a programme that transcends existing boundaries, you are an ideal candidate for this position. At the Donders Institute, you will have the opportunity to explore your chosen research line with full support, including an attractive start-up package (including assistance from a PhD candidate), access to state-of-the-art research facilities, and an excellent guidance and mentoring programme. You will be expected to contribute to a sustainable science environment in and outside the Donders Institute, i.e. bringing science to the broader public, and giving lectures at the Donders Institute.

Requirements

You have a strong academic track record as evidenced by:
- a PhD degree in a field relevant to the position concerned;
- an established international reputation;
- a strong track record of peer-reviewed international publications;
- experience with successfully applying for external funding;
- experience with supervising MA and PhD students;
- management skills (required for academic leadership).

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 5 years with a trial period of 12 months.

you will be classified as a Researcher, Level 2 in the Dutch university job-ranking system (UFO)
the starting salary depends on qualifications and experience
Preferred starting date is 1 September 2018.

The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour is a world-class interfaculty research centre, housing more than 600 researchers devoted to understanding the mechanistic underpinnings of the human mind. Research at the Donders Institute focuses around four themes: 1. Language and communication, 2. Perception, action and control, 3. Plasticity and memory, 4. Brain networks and neuronal communication. Excellent, state-of-the-are research facilities are available for a broad range of neuroscience research.
