Job description

As a PhD candidate you will work on a project in Applied Analysis. It focuses on the analysis of strongly coupled reaction-diffusion systems arising in biological applications. The project is funded by Radboud University and supervised by Stefanie Sonner. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a PhD from Radboud University. You will be encouraged to attend and contribute to international scientific meetings. You will have a light teaching load and, if necessary, you will perform your teaching duties in English.

Requirements

- you have an excellent background in mathematics and a keen interest in life science applications;
- you should hold an MSc in Mathematics, or expect to have obtained your MSc by the starting date;
- you have a strong background in analysis, particularly in partial differential equations;
- proficiency in English is essential

Conditions of employment

you will be appointed for an initial period of 18 months, after which your performance will be evaluated. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended by 2.5 years
- you will be classified as a PhD Candidate in the Dutch university job-ranking system (UFO)
the gross starting salary amounts to €2,222 per month, and will increase to €2,840 in the fourth year;

Faculty of Science

You will be based at the Department of Mathematics at Radboud University, which is embedded in the Institute for Mathematics, Astrophysics and Particle Physics (IMAPP), part of the Faculty of Science.
