Hospitality in Networking lecturer at Saxion, University of Applied Sciences, Hospitality Business School

Job description

Networks create informal and active relationships and stimulate communication and collaboration between individuals and parties over an economic, social, and administrative spectrum. This applies to private, social, administrative, and economic circles in the region, sectors within the Netherlands, and internationally.

Hospitality is a core focus area for the research group and addresses the question of how businesses are created in and via networks. How do companies use networks and how are they a part of these networks themselves? What role do the social networks of clients play in this, and how can knowledge networks or policy networks address structural issues? Networks form the process-based context for business development.

The research group is focused on business and multiple value creation in tourism and hotel development, in the role development for facility management, and the ways in which real estate and spatial development are realised. The research group also broadly and essentially addresses questions for the entire economic domain.

Partnerships are essential to this. The lecturer develops the research agenda based on the questions from the professional field. This is done in close consultation with the Saxion degree programmes. The research is conducted with support from lecturer/researchers and students where possible. In this way the research group educates the next generation of professionals who will make a contribution to sustainable economic activities.

The lecturer will work together with other lecturers from the different domains within the joint research programme for the economic domain and so formulates their own research agenda and the corporate research agenda of Saxion. The research groups in the economic domain are developed, managed, and supported by a shared vision of the relationship between the professional field, education, and research groups.
