Job description

PostDoc position RESCURE Project  - "Retrofit Security for Critical Infrastructures" (RESCURE)

Industrial Partners: Intrinsic-ID (Eindhoven, The Netherlands), Technikon (Villach, Austria).

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is one of Europe's top technological universities, situated in the heart of one of the largest high-tech innovation ecosystems in the Netherlands. Research at TU/e is characterized by a combination of academic excellence and real-world impact. This impact is often obtained via close collaboration with regional high-tech institutes and enterprises. One of these enterprises is Intrinsic-ID, which is focusing on Hardware Intrinsic Security.  TU/e collaborates with Intrinsic ID through RESCURE, a EuroStars project. In this project researchers from TU/e are cooperating with specialists from Intrinsic-ID and from Technikon, Austria. There is a vacancy in RESCURE for a PostDoc appointed by TU/e, focusing on hardware-based security.

RESCURE retrofits security in large scale IoT Critical Infrastructures (CIs). It aims at delivering a fully-fledged low-cost IoT security solution based on a patented hardware technology which provides secure storage and root-of-trust. On top, RESCURE will deliver end-to-end security protocols and key management/provisioning that scale on CIs.

Within the project TU/e will focus on the analysis and implementation of secure low-cost implementations of SRAM-PUF technology. Problems that have to be addressed are techniques that can handle SRAM bias, multiple-enrolment strategies, SRAM temperature dependence, and SRAM-aging.

The PostDoc will develop and analyze techniques that support the goal of the project. The PostDoc will also be active in the dissemination of the scientific results and project outcomes. The PostDoc will cooperate within the project team with other team members from TU/e, Intrinsic-ID, and Technikon to realize a demonstrator.

Note
Although RESCURE has been accepted as a Eurostars project, it needs further approval from the Dutch authorities. Only after this approval is obtained the PostDoc can be appointed.
