PhD-candidate
The School of Health Professions Education, Maastricht is looking for a PhD student for a university wide research project on improving students’ study skills

Job description

Recent research shows that about 60-90% of higher education students regularly use ineffective self-study skills, and as a result, study results suffer. This research also provides evidence of self-study skills that are effective and should be used by students. However, formal training of these skills is scarce and research on what makes training effective is lacking. At Maastricht University, a university wide self-study skills training is being developed and implemented, within the context of a Comenius Teaching Fellowship provided by the Ministry of Education (https://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/news/anique-de-bruin-receives-teaching-fellow-grant) and in a collaboration between EDLAB (the Maastricht University Institute of Education Innovation), the Institute of Education at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML), and the School of Health Professions Education (SHE).
