Assistant/Associate Professor with growth potential to Full Professor Accounting Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Knowledge Management

Job description

The position in Information Management involves duties in the areas of education, research and management. Educational duties will involve graduate (masters and executive masters), and undergraduate (bachelors) courses within the area of (Accounting) Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Business Intelligence (including Data Analytics). Research duties will involve research activities in one of these areas, leading to publications in internationally in top rated journals. The candidate is expected to be able to make a bridge between new developments in IT and the accounting field in the broad sense (including internal control and auditing). Also, the candidate may participate in research projects in the context of the newly established Business Intelligence & Smart Services Center (http://www.biss-institute.nl) in Heerlen. The campus is an eco-system in which large enterprises (e.g. APG, Accenture, Conclusion) and SMEs collaborate with researchers and students on technological, business and societal aspects of data driven smart services.

The extent of managerial duties depends on the function type and involve supporting work for the management team of the Department of Accounting & Information Management and the Maastricht Accounting, Auditing & Information Management Research Center (MARC), or administrative duties within the School of Business & Economics.

Requirements

Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. (or be near completion) in Information Management or related fields such as (Accounting) Information Systems, Business Intelligence or Knowledge Management. Applicants must have a commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Candidates should have acquired teaching experience.
