Job description

You will be teaching in various modules in the Bachelor of Psychology and in the Master track Psychology of Conflict, Risk, and Safety. The Bachelor modules (15 EC) focus on general psychological topics in the first year and on the psychology and safety field thereafter. Additionally, you will supervise bachelor- and master theses in the psychology of Conflict, Risk, and Safety field with the option for research topics of your preference. We are looking for a candidate:

  • With a background in social sciences related to the department's research area (https://www.utwente.nl/en/bms/pcrv/)
  • We are particularly interested in candidates with a promising track record in the risk and safety domain, demonstrated by a number of high quality publications including papers in top ranked international journals.
  • Who has a strong entrepreneurial orientation. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to attract external research funding. We expect you to apply for external funding (e.g. NWO; Horizon 2020) and to engage in international and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Who is keen on further developing the department’s profile in terms of the We UT motto High Tech Human Touch. Therefore, you have either focused on technology in your past research or you have a demonstrable interest in doing so for your future work.
  • Who has experience in teaching at a university level. You have demonstrable didactic skills in teaching and good teaching evaluations.
  • You are in possession of a University Teaching Qualification (or similar), or are willing to obtain one.

Conditions of employment

You will be appointed as an Assistant Professor for the duration of 2 years, with a two-month probation. Prolongation of the position is a possibility. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for Universities (CAO). Depending on relevant background and experience, the gross monthly salary on a full time basis ranges from € 3.475,- to € 4.757,- per month. Employees are also entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and an 8.3% end-of-year bonus. The preferred starting date is September, 1, 2017. Interviews will be held on 18th July 2017.
