Job description

The Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA) invites applications for a tenure position in Orthodontics at the Full Professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to act as head of the department and director of the postgraduate program in Orthodontics in ACTA.

Job Description

Qualities that are considered important include a broad-based background in oral biology and clinical orthodontics, evidence of organizational experience and leadership, commitment to raising the quality of patient care and demonstrated teaching skills and clinical skills.

Requirements

The successful candidate has completed a formal education program in Orthodontics, has been registered as a specialist for at least five years and holds a PHD degree.   
The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the European Union. Excellence in research should be demonstrated by a list of publications.

Conditions of employment

The successful candidate will be appointed at the Vrije Universiteit. Salary level is according to qualifications and experience.

ACTA conducts scientific research, provides educational programmes, and delivers patient care in the field of dentistry. Besides training students to be dentists, ACTA provides postgraduate courses for dentists. ACTA has a workforce of approximately 500, and approximately 500 students are enrolled in its Dentistry programme
