Tilburg University and Deloitte Belastingadviseurs BV have created a joint venture: The Tax Assurance Fund.

Context:

The purpose of this fund is to provide education and perform research in the field of Tax Assurance (TA). The fund is managed and administrated by the Fiscal Institute Tilburg of Tilburg University and currently has a vacancy (50%) for an associate professor (universitair hoofddocent). The ideal candidate has in depth knowledge of risk management, internal and management control and holds a PHD in one of these fields. The candidate is interested in the application of control/risk management in the field of taxation and has publications on this subject in relevant journals or other fora. The candidate will participate in the development, teaching and organization of regular and post master courses as well as specific courses. The candidate will also (co)perform research and guide PHD candidates.

We are looking for candidates that meet the following requirements:

•           a PhD in Economics, taxation or Finance, with specialization in internal control;

•           a strong interest in taxation;

•           ability to work both independently and in a team of and interact with experts from other field such as taxation and audit;

•           being highly motivated, rigorous, and disciplined.

As an associate professor we expect you to:

•           perform high-quality research in the domain described

•           collaborate with other researchers in this project

•           present results at leading international conferences in the field

•           publish results in highly-ranked scientific journals

•           participate in activities of the group and department, at both sites

•           participate in doctoral training on relevant topics

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

•           A full time temporary appointment for a period of 4 years, with an intermediate evaluation after 9 months;

The starting gross salary for a fulltime appointment will vary between € 4577.- and € 6437.- per month (UFO: associate professor) based on scale 13 or 14 of the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) Dutch Universities.
