www.wageningenur.nl/cbm); with particular emphasis in activities for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+). The focus of the work will be on an interactive forest monitoring systems building upon near-real time remote sensing data and community/local expert-acquired data on forest and land changes. Research involves developing techniques and implementing them in a series case studies in developing countries such as Peru, Ethiopia and Indonesia. The candidate is expected to spend significant time in the field and to work efficiently with local, national and regional partners. The candidate is also required to conduct regular capacity development for local data collection techniques and their integration with remote sensing data streams.
