Secretary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active secretary with experience in working in an international organisation to join our team at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen University & Research.

You will be joining our Portfolio Support Group (PSG), your tasks will consist of the day to day support of the Business Unit Manager and assuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Management Team (consisting of 3). This includes planning, preparing and on request taking minutes of internal and external meetings of the Management Team and the Business Unit Manager and the monitoring of their follow up. Furthermore substantive administrative support work will be part of your job responsibilities with respect to maintaining up-to-date files, archiving publications, organising team events and other tasks arising. In addition you are expected to be able to fulfil all secretarial assignments that occur within the (PSG). In collaboration with your fellow PSG members you will determine the urgency and priorities of the assigned work.

Together with your colleagues of the PSG you are the first point of contact for employees and visitors so a friendly and your attitude is service-oriented
You must be able to manage competing priorities, people, interests and time. In consultation with your fellow secretaries you will be able to take over tasks during their absence. You will have experience in working in a dynamic and responsible position in an internationally-oriented organisation.

Requirements

We ask for:
  • Fully qualified secretary, you're used to working at a BSc / HBO level;
  • Seniority by a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience within a knowledge organisation at management support level;
  • Ability to set priorities and perform adequately under high work and peer pressure;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative and responsibility;
  • Good communication and organisational skills and a service and quality oriented approach;
  • Key competencies are; accuracy, confidentiality and discretion, tact, self-steered and solution oriented;
  • A dynamic and balanced team player;
  • Interest in working in a dynamic, highly-motivated international environment with other people committed to having an impact in other regions of the world;
  • Excellent spoken and written Dutch and English; mastering of English at a minimum of CEFR C1 level is essential. language page;
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. MS Office) and ability to learn other programmes used within our organisation

Conditions of employment

We offer
We offer a temporary full-time employment with an average working week of 36 hours spread over 5 days per week, salary up to a max of € 2675 (Salary scale 6, Wageningen Research Collective Labour Agreement) gross per month for a full working week. While the duration of the employment contract concerns an initial period of one year, depending on a.o. performance there is an outlook to a permanent contract. We offer you good secondary employment conditions, like arrangements for leave, education, personal development, and a pension with the ABP Pension Fund.
