As an Assistant Professor you will participate in the research program “changing governance, governing change”. Within this context you will develop a research line that focuses on international organizations and global/European governance related to the Wageningen research domains. You will lecture courses in public administration and governance to students both in social and natural sciences at Wageningen University and co-supervise PhD’s. In addition, you are expected to contribute actively to the acquisition of research grants, consultancy and research projects.

Functie-eisen

You are an ambitious and enthusiastic scientist and a team player, devoted to research and education in international relations, public management, or policy science.

You also have:
- a PhD in the field of public administration or organisational science, both with a clear application to the governance of complex societal problems.
- conducted research in at least one of the Wageningen domains of food, climate change, sustainable agriculture, rural areas and water management
- published internationally in refereed scientific journals.
- strong didactic skills and enthusiasm for teaching and working with (international) students in a broad range of programmes
- an international network or is willing to build an own network
- the ability to acquire externally financed projects
- would like to work in an interdisciplinary context
- good organizational skills 
- are fluent in English

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

We offer you as talented scientist a challenging career trajectory called Tenure Track. From the position of Assistant Professor you can grow into a Full Professor holding a Personal Chair. Of course training and coaching are provided and interdisciplinary (international) cooperation is stimulated. You will also be given the chance to build up your own research line.  

As we will only be selecting outstanding candidates to take part in Tenure Track, this will be a good stepping stone to a further career within Wageningen UR or elsewhere.

We offer you a temporary contract for 0,8 - 1,0 FTE, for three years with a possibility of extension when the tenure track criteria are met (for more information see http://www.wur.nl/UK/work/tenuretrack).
