Position

Because of IB’s new didactical approach, we’re looking for a colleague who likes to coach students on process and IB content. Coaching on so-called 21st century skills is important.

Besides coaching of students, one of your tasks is to provide law, marketing, management and research expert classes to international students of the International Business programme. Apart from teaching, this also involves project and individual coaching and assessment of projects, internships and theses. In your position of lecturer you make an important contribution to educational innovation, within the context of Programme Learning Outcome-based learning.

Because of the broad range of tasks, the vacancy may be split into several smaller ones.

 Profile

As a candidate for this position you should:

• have excellent teaching (in IB related subjects) and coaching skills for bachelor learning, be familiar with current educational views, methods and techniques.
• have qualifications and experience relevant to the development of IB students’ soft skills, specifically skills such as cooperation, professional communication and reflection.
• be able to teach in English and have excellent English communication skills. Reasonable command of Dutch is an asset.
• have work experience within an international/business environment.
• be able to create a stimulating learning environment for the student.
• be flexible, result-oriented and a good team player.
• have experience in doing research in the International Business field and a strong link/experience with research informed teaching.
• have a PhD degree (or close to obtaining) in the field of or related to International Business.

• a temporary contract, for 0.8-1.0 FTE (or divided into smaller units in case of multiple candidates), with Randstad Payroll for the duration of one year, starting 27 August 2018, which may be extended based on performance and availability;
• a salary depending on academic background and professional experience, of maximum scale 11 according to the CAO-HBO, the collective agreement for universities (maximum €4,661.12 before taxes, per month, under fulltime employment);

The Faculty of International Business and Communication (FIBC) of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences is located in Maastricht and has Educating Global Minds as its mission statement.
