The Faculty of Business Economics, capacity group Quantitative Methods, research group Logistics of Hasselt University seeks a (m/f) PhD student Logistics.
Background
The research group Logistics is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial colleague to further strengthen its team and to do doctoral research. This research group focuses on analysing and optimising problems of practical relevance concerning operations management, supply chain management and distribution logistics. Quantitative tools such as mathematical modelling, computer simulation and (meta)heuristics are used.
Job content
As PhD student, you will be guided in performing your research with the aim of obtaining a PhD. You determine together with your promoter the direction of your research and communicate your results by publishing in international journals, by presenting at international conferences and seminars and through (international) research stays. You will continuously have the chance to further professionalise, e.g., through the courses offered by the Doctoral School of Behavioral Sciences & Humanities.
Examples of research topics for the PhD are:
The research topic will be defined together with the promoter of the PhD. You will be part of a dynamic research group with national and international contacts. Furthermore, you contribute to the support of the teaching activities of the research group (such as preparing and correcting exams, teaching practice sessions, supporting master theses and business projects,...).
You will be appointed and paid as PhD student.
Doctoral grant for four years (on the condition of a positive evaluation after 2 years).
