Job description

What you are going to do

We are looking for a Grants Advisor who will strengthen our central Research Office, providing a wide range of grants services. You will play a key role in supporting our academic staff to access funding from the European Commission and National funding programmes (NWA/NWO). You will be their first point of contact for information about funding sources and play a key role in helping researchers find suitable sources of funding. You will support them throughout the funding application and submission process but at the same time provide a critical ‘evaluator’s eye’ to the proposal.

This is an exciting position to contribute to the development of new services in a changing funding landscape. The post offers plenty of room for development of new ideas to increase funding. You should have a strong affinity with the kind of research carried out Amsterdam UMC. As a central point of contact for external funding, you need to be client-centred, able to deal with a diverse range of tasks and stakeholders effectively and efficiently and, at times, be able to work under pressure.

In this position you will contribute to a smooth and successful submission and implementation of externally funded research projects, in close co-operation with the project leader and the other members of the Research Office. As a grants advisor, you are expected to:

  • monitor and analyse of internal and external developments with regard to the availability of subsidy funds and research funds within the Netherlands and within the EU;
  • informing researchers with regard to the possibilities for using them;
  • advising, supervising and supporting researchers in drawing up the subsidy application (process-based);
  • contribute to other grants services support delivered by the Research Office.

The position is parttime. You are able to fulfill the position for 28 – 32 hours a week.
