Job description

We are looking for four new lecturers in the bachelor programmes Biology and Life Science and Technology, who can contribute to the specific majors:
• Behaviour and Neuroscience (1.0 FTE)
• Biomedical Sciences (1.0 FTE)
• Ecology and Evolution (1.0 FTE)
• Molecular Life Sciences (1.0 FTE)

As a lecturer, your duties will include:
• teach lab-classes, tutorials, and lectures
• design and prepare major-specific lab-classes and make them future proof
• give lectures related to these lab-classes
• supervise major-specific bachelor projects.

Teaching at our faculty is research-infused. For this reason, you will be affiliated with a research group.

Requirements

What we expect of you:
• a MSc and preferably a PhD degree in life sciences, with a specialization in one of the four majors
• experience in setting up lab-classes
• experience in teaching at the University level appropriate to career stage
• proficiency in English at the C2 level
• a University Teaching Qualification (Dutch: BKO) or the willingness to obtain one within a year.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
• a salary with a minimum of € 2,709 up to a maximum of € 4,274 gross per month (scale 10) for a full-time position
• a full-time employment (1.0 FTE)
• a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
• an 8.3% end-of-year allowance
• an appointment for initially one year; after a positive evaluation during the Result and Development Interview, an extension with another year is possible.
