We are looking for a lecturer in the bachelor programmes Biology and Life Science and Technology, who can contribute to the (co)provisioning of lab-classes, tutorials and lecturers in all majors of both programmes with emphasis on the large propaedeutic lab-classes.

We are looking for a lecturer in the bachelor programmes Biology and Life Science and Technology, who can contribute to the (co)provisioning of lab-classes, tutorials and lecturers in all majors of both programmes with emphasis on the large propaedeutic lab-classes.

Your duties will include:
• you have to design and prepare lab-classes and make them future proof
• you have to teach lab-classes and lectures related to these lab-classes
• you give lectures related to these lab-classes.

Teaching at our faculty is research-infused. For this reason, you will be affiliated with a research group.

Requirements

What we expect of you:
• an MSc and preferably a PhD degree in life sciences
• experience in setting up lab-classes
• experience in teaching at the University level appropriate to career stage
• experience with modern molecular-biological techniques and bioinformatics
• proficiency in English at the C2 level
• a University Teaching Qualification (Dutch: BKO) or the willingness to obtain one within a year.

Competences: proactive, stress resistant, strong communication skills, interculturally sensitive.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
• a salary with a minimum of € 2,709 up to a maximum of € 4,274 gross per month (scale 10) for a full-time position
• a full-time employment (1.0 FTE)
• a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
• an 8.3% end-of-year allowance
• an appointment for initially one year with the prospect of a permanent position after a positive performance evaluation.
