People are the heart and soul of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). With excellent research and education programs, being part of outstanding national and international academic networks, participating in strong collaborations with industry and societal organizations, and being the academic heart of the Brainport top technology region, TU/e is a pivot in a world-class high tech ecosystem. We are known internationally for our excellence and expertise in basic science and technology disciplines.
Interdepartmental Committees (IFC) aim to increase the transparency of our evaluation methods and criteria for academic staff, with specific attention to diversity and inclusion and the characteristics of the scientific domains. The members of the Interdepartmental Committees develop mutual, in-depth insights and expertise with regard to evaluating, assessing and guiding our scientific talent at TU/e.
TasksYour main responsibility as HR Policy advisor is to perform the role of secretary to the Interdepartmental Committees. IFC members are independent members of all Recruitment, Mid-term and Promotion Assessment Committees. All academic fields at TU/e are connected to one of three committees, i.e.
IFC Engineering,
IFC Basic Sciences and
IFC Humans, Technology, Management and Design. In these IFC committees, 36 Associate and Full Professors contribute to the evaluation and assessment of our scientific talent.
As IFC secretary, you are an independent advisor to the Mid-term and Promotion Assessment Committees. You prepare committee meetings. During these meetings you take care of the process and ensure an objective, balanced treatment of the feedback in the written advice to Department Boards. Equally important is that you advise and provide support to the IFC's. As an expert you are the linking pin between different stakeholders, such as IFC members, Department boards and HR advisors. You belong to the team of IFC secretaries (also HR Policy advisors) with whom you further develop the way of working for the IFC's and contribute to the development of assessment criteria throughout TU/e. You are also involved in HR policy topics.
