Antoni van Leeuwenhoek

The department of radiotherapy at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek/Netherlands Cancer Institute is a dynamic department treating about 5000 patients per year with the most advanced techniques. Data generated at our department concerns the patient, treatment and outcome and forms the basis of scientific research and improvements in care.

Project description

The Antoni van Leeuwenhoek is actively involved in the development of state of the art radiotherapy, including MR guided radiotherapy and proton therapy. To show the added value of these modern treatments, we are cooperating with other institutes both national and international. Data from these institutes are combined into a single dataset for each technique, maximizing the potential to learn from clinical data.

Your position

We are looking for a data manager / data application specialist for these projects. You will be responsible for the data acquisition and transfer. Your role will be to co-develop and implement the required infrastructure and to upload the necessary data to the project databases. You will work with IT and data science group on technical aspects and participate in policy making about data sharing and data science projects. Together with medical and research staff you will translate the available data to the deliverables prescribed for each project.

Requirements

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated data specialist with affinity for working in a research clinic.

  • You have a Master or Bachelor of Science in a relevant field;
  • You show affinity with database development; preferably within healthcare;
  • You have the ability to translate research and clinical wishes to data solutions;
  • You have knowledge of Python or another programming language and SQL;
  • You can work independently and function well within a multidisciplinary environment;
  • You wish to develop yourself as a data specialist in an ambitious research clinic.

Your career opportunities and terms of employment

Naturally we encourage any initiative that support your personal growth. You will be employed for 1 year, with a possible extension to maximum 4 years. Terms of employment are conform CAO hospitals. Your salary will be, depending on experience, between € 2.336 en € 3.490 gross per month for 36-hour week according to FWG 50. End-of year bonus is a standard secondary condition.
