Job description

At Radboud University, we are jointly preparing for Horizon Europe, the new European framework programme for research and innovation that will start in 2021. Our aim is to make Radboud University's participation in this programme (and related EU programmes) a success. To achieve this aim, a university-wide EU Action Plan has been launched in line with the university's new Strategic Plan and based on the experiences gained through previous European programmes (such as Horizon2020). An important aspect of the EU Action Plan is cooperation in the context of interdisciplinary initiatives across faculty boundaries. Intensification of EU grant support is part of this EU Action Plan. To this end, we are seeking to strengthen our team of grants advisors.

As European Research and Innovation Grants Advisor, you will be responsible for finding suitable funding opportunities and for directing the application process in collaboration with the researchers concerned. This will involve European collaborative projects, particularly within the framework of Horizon Europe (and related programmes). You will support and encourage scientists (and funding consultants within the faculties) from idea to submission. You will establish connections and stimulate (strategic) cooperation in the context of interdisciplinary initiatives on campus. You are well informed and will provide information on developments in Brussels and Europe. You will also establish links with external parties (e.g. companies, civil society organisations) and thus generate leads for researchers for new research projects. You will maintain and further develop internal and external networks.

You will organise information meetings, workshops and training courses. You will remain proactively involved during the entire application process, helping to shape the consortium concerned and identify and describe the intended impact. You will provide background information on calls, comment (in various stages) on the total grant proposals and give advice on further development. You will be the EU specialist who cooperates excellently with scientists and with faculty support staff (in a team). Finally, you will contribute to good management information for directors and board members.
