To collect, craft and share visual stories of our research projects and interdisciplinary education with the world, the Corporate Affairs Department of the Communication & Marketing Office is seeking for a Storyteller. A new role that will be central to spreading and amplifying our impact over the coming years.

As a Storyteller, you will be a self-starter and entrepreneurial editor familiar with creating inspiring content. We are looking for a colleague who is/has:

• a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, e.g. journalism or communication;
• 3+ years of experience in interviewing and visual content creation;
• excellent spoken and written command of the English language, a similar command of Dutch is preferred;
• excellent editorial and storytelling skills through written content, video and audio;
• experience with and/or an affinity for academic research;
• strong people and networking skills. You'll be interviewing lots of our researchers and professors in all kind of areas of expertise, so you should have a talent for making people feel comfortable and willing to share;
• experience with (or a willingness to learn) hands-on videography, photography, video editing, podcasting and blogging. Also with video editing software, ability to recommended video and podcast production equipment;
• proven experience with short videos suited for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and other social networks;
• organized and focused approach to delivering engaging content with excellent attention to detail;
• special consideration will be given to candidates with fresh ideas about visual content, how it impacts the user experience and contributes to the international visibility of UU (visual, audio, video, etc.).

This is an appointment of 0.8 - 1.0 FTE for the duration of one year. In case of a good performance, an indefinite employment is one of the possibilities. The minimum gross salary is €2,835 and the maximum gross salary is €3,895 (scale 9 of the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities) per month, at a full-time employment.

Besides that, you will receive a holiday allowance of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 %.
