Subject to the release of funds, we have the following professorship to be filled as soon as possible:

Professorship in salary group W 2 for the field of “Nursing Science with Focus on Nursing Diagnostics and Assessment Procedures” The professorship is embedded in the primary-qualifying “International Degree Programme in Nursing B.Sc.”

The newly created „International Degree Programme in Nursing“ will open in the winter semester, 2019. Upon completion of the 8-semester programme, graduates receive the academic degree Bachelor of Science as well as the staterecognised vocational qualification as nursing specialist. The programme is closely interlinked with the practice via cooperation partners in the area of nursing care and offers science-based access to the nursing profession. It supports the further development of the professional field and an increasingly changing professional practice, which orients tasks in the care process towards practical skills together with formal qualifications.

Requirements

In addition to a basic education in nursing care, relevant studies in the field of health sciences, preferably nursing sciences and an outstanding doctorate, you have acquired several years of academic and practical experience in the field of nursing.

The successful candidate will represent the subject of nursing sciences with a focus on the areas of nursing assessment procedures and nursing diagnostics. You are expected to be able to teach and conduct research in a scientifically sound manner based on relevant practical experience. Teaching duties will also include accompanying students during their placements at locations of nursing practice.

You have good didactic skills based on proven teaching experience, among other things, and have ideally authored relevant publications. You are accustomed to working in a team and to participating in joint projects. International experience, contacts and content related connections are desirable. In keeping with our international profile, some courses are offered in a foreign language. In this respect, in addition to German, you should also have a sound knowledge of English.

Moreover, we expect:

  1. publication of research work preferably in the above field;
  2. active participation in the conceptual and profile development of degree programmes;
  3. active participation in our research clusters;
  4. willingness to actively participate in the university’s self-governing bodies;
  5. the ability and willingness to offer courses in English;
  6. unrestricted willingness to move to the university location. Knowledge of the general organisation of research and teaching and of science management is also desirable.
