The Department of Cell and Chemical Biology of the LUMC is looking for a PhD candidate or postdoc to conduct research on post-translational modifications (PTM) of cellular proteins. If this appeals to you, you might be the candidate we are looking for.

Job description

The localization and activity of cellular proteins is regulated by dynamic post-translational modifications. It turns out these modifications are also modified themselves, leading to a novel hidden layer of control. You, together with a team of other researchers, will aim to develop chemical tools to study these complex processes in detail. You will design and prepare conjugates of synthetic protein and small reactive molecules and validate their activity on (recombinant) enzymes.
