Communication Science at Radboud University is looking for two experienced Assistant Professors (0.8 - 1.0 FTE each) to further strengthen its educational programme and its highly reputed research. Your educational responsibilities will be to coordinate and teach courses at the Bachelor's and Master's levels, as well as contribute to the development of teaching, with a focus on persuasive communication (e.g. marketing and advertising) and digital technology (e.g. big data, AI, computational methods, algorithmic persuasion, chatbots). You will also supervise Bachelor's and/or Master's theses. As a wide range of methodological approaches can be used in theses, methodological flexibility is desired. In positive communication research we investigate the potential of mediated communication for improving human well-being. A key role is played by techniques and tools from the area of Artificial Intelligence: innovative methods such as machine learning and knowledge representation are used to develop intelligent media interventions that make people happy, healthy and well-informed.

You will be expected to:

    • Contribute to the development of teaching, and to carry out and coordinate excellent and innovative teaching in Dutch (50%).
    • Be an inspiring, motivating and conscientious supervisor of internships as well as of BA and MA theses.
    • Perform and publish top-quality research (50%).
