We constantly strive to improve the professionalism and quality of our financial reporting function to facilitate the company in its further growth and expansion. The financial controller operates in the center of tracking and reporting this, and therefore is considered a key position at Viroclinics. In this position you will be an integral part of the Viroclinics finance team, consisting of the CFO, the Finance Director and two Financial Administrators. As the Financial Controller within Viroclinics you prefer to work in a dynamic, internationally oriented, private equity owned environment. You are at your best when you are responsible for the day-to-day  financial accounting, have the opportunity to use your skills to improve (accounting related) processes and participate and initiate various types of other projects. In this function you will report to the Finance Director.

• Responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting, together with the two financial administrators;
• Financial closure of the financial administration on monthly basis including consolidation of the group companies;
• Ensure proper reconciliation between the financial administration and underlying sub administrations;
• Reconciliation of cash flow generation;
• Prepare external monthly financial reports to external and internal stakeholders;
• Analyse and assist in analyzing reported numbers;
• Review bank payments;
• Responsible for preparing the year end consolidated financial statements (currently NL GAAP);
• Lead the annual external audit process with the external auditor;
• Streamline and improve accounting processes and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy;
• Setting up new internal controls and optimizing existing controls;
• Various project related activities, like:
  • Assist in realization of the financial carve-out of our business unit pre-clinical services
    (Viroclinics Xplore);
  • Implement a cost center structure;
  • Assist in and improve annual budget process;
  • Update hourly rates on annual basis;
  • Assist in project segregation of duties, user profiles;
  • Further improving project control in close cooperation with the study directors.

• You have at least a Bachelor work and thinking level in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field;
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar work field, including Big-4;
• Adaptable, flexible and able to succeed in a dynamic and changing environment;
• Hands-on, pro-active, self-starter with a can-do attitude;
• Accurate, analytical skills, team player;
• Good communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
