Working within the Debye Institute for Nanomaterials Science and in the Organic Chemistry and Catalysis group of the Department of Chemistry, we have an opening for a tenure track assistant professor. We are looking for an ambitious candidate with a strong background in molecular chemistry aiming to build an active and internationally recognized research line in the field of sustainable chemistry and catalysis. Your background and the position
You have a PhD in (homogeneous or heterogeneous) catalysis, sustainable chemistry, or (inorganic or organic) materials, an excellent track record, and the experience necessary to take your place within an international research and education environment. Your own research interests are found within the broad fields of catalyst development for sustainable chemistry, (electro)chemical conversion and energy storage, and chemistry in a circular economy. You combine scientific excellence with an open-minded and collaborative mindset in research and teaching and will contribute enthusiastically to the acquisition and execution of externally funded projects. You act as an outward looking ambassador for Utrecht University, able to communicate your knowledge to the next generation and across networks.
