The Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA) seeks to expand its academic staff by appointment of an assistant professor with a specialization in international security, conflict studies and qualitative research methods. The applicant must have demonstrated experience in teaching qualitative research methods (e.g., research design, comparative case studies, interview techniques and process tracing). Research areas of interest are international security, international organization, conflict studies, international political economy and international relations theory, migration and the environment. The candidate will be expected to teach across the various programmes of the institute, at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, including the Advanced MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy and the MSc in Crisis and Security Management. We offer a full time position initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal and the intention to turn the position into a permanent one, based on need, funding and performance. Salary range from €3,637.- to €4,978.- gross per month (pay scale 11, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities).
