Job description

The Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Life Sciences has a vacancy for a Postdoctoral researcher in two-dimensional liquid chromatography.
The analytical-chemistry group of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is among the world leaders in multi-dimensional separations. The group collaborates intensively with complementary groups at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Centre of Analytical Sciences Amsterdam (CASA).

What are you going to do?

In the DEBOCS project researchers from the (UvA) collaborate with researchers of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and a number of companies, including Dow Chemical and DSM Coating Resins. Within this project high-resolution comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography methods have successfully been developed and applied to complex polymer samples. For the final year of this project we look for a postdoctoral researcher to capitalize on these findings and to build bridges to other ongoing research projects. In particular, synergy is sought with the STAMP project (Separation Technology for A Million Peaks), in which microfluidic devices for two- and three-dimensional liquid chromatography are developed using contemporary additive-manufacturing (3D-printing) techniques. In case you want more information you can find it here.
