Are you are an ambitious and enthusiastic scholar and a team player, dedicated to education and research in an interdisciplinary and international academic environment?

We are looking for a lecturer who will strengthen our group for 8 months. This lecturer will participate in the education program of the Health and Society Group at Wageningen University. Most of our teaching is offered in the Bachelor program "Gezondheid en Maatschappij" and the Master Applied Communication Science, specialization Health and Society. The lecturer will lecture courses, give tutorials and supervise BSc and MSc theses and internships.

Requirements

  • a MSc/PhD in the field of health promotion, with a particular interest in interdisciplinary approaches towards health-related phenomena and the understanding of health inequalities;
  • experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods;
  • skills in interdisciplinary thinking and able to translate this to education in BSc and MSc programs;
  • excellent didactic skills for teaching at both Bachelor and Master level (University Teacher Qualification is a preference);
  • excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • fluency in both Dutch and English is an absolute pre-requisite.

Conditions of employment

A challenging position with, depending on your experience, a competitive salary from a minimum of €2.709 up to a maximum of € 4.274 for a full working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities (scale 10). This position available for 32 hours per week.

The Health and Society Group
The Health and Society Group is part of the department of Social Sciences Group of Wageningen University and is a dynamic and quickly growing group, both in terms of research and teaching. Our mission is to advance the understanding of factors, processes and mechanisms that underlie the development of health and well-being during the life course. We are particularly interested in health development as a function of the interaction between people and their socio-ecological context. We apply a combination of research methods and techniques: quantitative research, qualitative research, mixed methodology, and both traditional and (participatory) action research.
