The opening is for a post doc position within the field of Infectious diseases and zebrafish immunity. The position is in an interdisciplinary team of immunology and experimental biologists using zebrafish as a model. We are looking for an experienced post doc with in depth expertise in studies of zebrafish metabolism, immunity and medical compound treatment. Experience with high throughput zebrafish screening, genetic techniques are required, including extensive experience with microbiology, qPCR and cloning. Experience with high throughput screening, microinjection and  zebrafish husbandry is important.

Key responsibilities

• High throughput screening of zebrafish larvae;
• Extensive microbiology expertise;
• Extensive experience of small molecule screens;
• Microinjection of zebrafish; tissue analysis; microbial injections;
• Active participation in the research projects, including interpretation and reporting.

• A PhD, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree;
• Extensive experience with zebrafish research;
• Publication track record in high ranking journals;
• Fluent interdisciplinary communication skills with scientists in cell biology and medical school scientists;
• Excellent written and oral proficiency in English. The position is in an international team, therefore speaking fluent English is required.
• Ability and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment;
• You are a team player, but also able to work independently;
• You take initiative and have a strong interest in academic research;
• An article 9 certificate is essential.

We offer a one year term position with the possibility of renewal based on need, funding and performance. The salary ranges from  €2,709.- to  €4,274.- gross per month (pay scale 10 in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities)
