Job description

The Department of Microeconomics and Public Economics at Maastricht University is looking for PhD candidates in Economic Theory and Behavior (including Microeconomic Theory, Public Economics, Game Theory, Social Choice, Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics and Neuroeconomics).

The candidate will carry out research in one of the above mentioned areas. Roughly 20% of his/her time will be devoted to teaching activities and roughly 80% of his/her time will be devoted to research activities.

Requirements

In order to qualify, the candidate must have successfully completed a Master’s degree (MSc or MPhil) in Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related area (preferably before July 2020, at the latest by September 2020) and have a good competence in written and spoken English. Graduation from a two-year Master’s programme (120 ECTS) and a quantitative background will be advantages.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

Accepted candidates obtain a 4 years fully salaried position sponsored by GSBE, the graduate school of the School of Business and Economics (€2.325—€2.972 gross per month).
