Your job will primarily consist of methodological research and data analysis support for medical research. You will also be involved in teaching statistics (~10%).

We are looking for an assistant professor with the following background:

• You hold a PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning or a closely related discipline;
• You have a strong background in developing new computational and/or statistical methods;
• You have experience with high-dimensional data, e.g. genomics or imaging data;
• You have good programming skills, preferably in R;
• You have good communicative skills;
• You are a very independent researcher, with the ambition to acquire research grants.

High-level expertise on statistical machine learning is an advantage.

Fixed-term contract: one year, with prospect of extension or permanent positioning.

Salary Scale 11: 3808 tot 5226 euro gross when employed full-time (depending on qualifications and experience).

This faculty position is initially for one year, but has the prospect of an extension or permanent position, depending on achievements.
