Job description

As a communication officer within the ESA department you work in an inspiring, dynamic and international environment in a position that offers variety and creativity. Together with a team of colleagues, you are responsible for running the Introduction Programme (IP) from initiation to completion, including communications, finances and evaluation. The IP is for new incoming Master, exchange and bridging students. It offers a useful and enjoyable start at TU Delft during which the students are introduced to the university, the Netherlands, and the multicultural student life. The IP takes place twice a year, in February and August. In August, the introduction programme for Bachelor students (OWee) and the IP take place in the same week, and the programme teams cooperate in the organisation of those elements that are common to both events.

You look at the event from the students’ perspective whilst ensuring it meets the university’s goals. You craft messages for clear and timely communication via a number of channels and materials, including videos, social media and a dedicated app.

You work with several student assistants whom you supervise to ensure a smooth delivery of the various elements of the programme. In addition, you collaborate closely with other members of the ESA Communications team, internal partners - including faculties and members of the OWee programme team - and external third parties.
While not directly engaged in running the IP, you contribute your communication skills to other ESA projects or events, implementing plans and delivering communication to both students and lecturers.
